San Angelo, Amarillo bishops to concelebrate annual Respect Life Mass in Midland today at 10
MIDLAND — Bishop Michael D. Pfeifer’s annual “Respect for Life Mass” will be 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 10, at The Prayer Garden in Midland, at the intersection of Fort Worth St. and Illinois Ave. The Most Rev. John Yanta, Bishop of Amarillo, will be the concelebrant.
The Mass will be held across from the Midland Planned Parenthood office on the day of the week that Planned Parenthood conducts abortions.
“Over one million children are aborted every year in the United States alone,” Pfeifer noted. “Some are killed by methods so brutal that society would not tolerate such treatment against defenseless animals. We invite all, Catholics and non-Catholics to come to this special Respect Life Mass and pray for the unborn and to help bring an end to the tragedy of abortion. “We ask all to keep in mind, we are all created, loved and redeemed by God, and it should be in each of us to have a respect for all human life.”
